The former stations of the Kakhovskaya line – “Varshavskaya” and “Kashirskaya” – will become part of the Big Circle Line of the Moscow metro.
“Kakhovskaya” started working again last year (when the western section of the BCL was opened), now the reconstruction of “Varshavskaya” and “Kashirskaya” is underway. At the stations, they are changing the decoration, architectural lighting, installing new turnstiles, updating the engineering infrastructure and security systems, they said in the capital Deptrans.
“After the launch of these stations, more than 50,000 passengers will not only be able to build their usual routes, but will also receive new convenient travel options and transfers to other radial lines, the MCC and the MCD. Moving around the city will become much faster and easier, saving up to 45 minutes a day,” said Maxim Liksutov, Deputy Mayor of Moscow in the Moscow Government for Transport.
At the Kashirskaya station there will be a transfer to the BCL and, according to the forecast, the Zamoskvoretskaya line will become freer up to 16%. The adjacent Kashirskoye will be unloaded up to 8%, Varshavskoye – up to 7%. Thanks to the full launch of the BCL, residents of the south-west, south and south-east of Moscow will have new convenient transfers to the green and gray lines.
