Patriarch Kirill on the eve of the 70th anniversary of Vladimir Putin invited the clergy and believers to “pray for the health” of the President of the Russian Federation for two days. How informs The press service of the Russian Orthodox Church, the primate signed the corresponding circular and the manager of the patriarch’s affairs sent it to the regional dioceses.

Kirill proposes to pray for Putin’s health on October 7, on his birthday, and also on October 8, on the day of memory of St. Sergius of Radonezh. Radonezhsky, the press service points out, “many centuries ago” blessed the Prince of Moscow Dimitry Donskoy “and the Russian army to fight the enemy who wanted the dismemberment of the Russian Land.”

The approved texts of prayers are also given, there are two of them, there are such lines: “We still pray to You, our Lord God for the Head of the Russian State Vladimir Vladimirovich …” and “Prosperous and peaceful life, health and salvation and good haste in everything, Lord grant to the now honored Head of the Russian State…”
