Less than a quarter of Russians believe that the country needs a Ministry of Happiness

Only 23% of respondents have a positive attitude towards the idea of creating a Ministry of Happiness in Russia, showed survey VTsIOM. A similar idea was recently expressed by Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matvienko. Most people think that this is not necessary. To specify their answer, skeptics most often answered that it is impossible to make all people happy and happiness cannot be regulated (19%). Many also noted the administrative side of the issue, in particular the excess of officials (16%) and unnecessary budget expenses (14%). Or simply the inexpediency of its creation. Supporters of the idea most often said that people are unhappy (29%). Part of their arguments concerned the request to increase the material and social well-being of the population, as well as peace and harmony.
Note that there are ministries of happiness in some foreign countries.
