Lawyer Soloviev: scammers under the guise of the FSB are trying to deprive Russians of their apartments

Honored Lawyer of Russia Ivan Solovyov told how scammers can take away housing from elderly Russians. In this scheme, criminals impersonate law enforcement officers and warn citizens that loans have been issued in their name from a dozen banks, and the victim’s apartment serves as collateral. In order to keep their home, the victim is asked to temporarily register it as an “FSB officer.”

In an interview with the Prime agency, the lawyer explained that such a scheme involves a whole team of scammers who introduce themselves as various government officials, including an “FSB employee,” an “investigator,” a “Central Bank employee,” and even an “operator from the State Services portal.” He emphasized that real employees of the FSB, the Central Bank and the prosecutor’s office never call individuals for any reason

In addition, the victim may be forced to indicate his real estate as collateral for a large loan, be forced to register the apartment “in his name,” sell it and transfer the money to a “safe” account. In case of loss of real estate, Soloviev advises insisting on initiating a criminal case and asking the investigator to seize (prohibit all actions) the apartment.
