Expert Ivan Soloviev explained what information this victim profile contains from telephone scammers in Russia. According to him, all telephone scammers can be divided into two categories. The first people call with almost no preparation – with minimal knowledge about the victim. They count on a successful outcome of circumstances, writes Radio Sputnik
The latter collect information about the victim in advance. The first ones only have stolen databases (of the same banks), while others first create a profile of the victim. For example, scammers study social networks. They know the composition of the family, place of work or pensioner status, car number.
In addition, they know the person’s actual place of residence, not his registration. And, of course, scammers know which bank a person keeps his money in and his financial situation. Why do you need such a profile? In order to know about a person’s vulnerabilities, it is possible to build a complex and effective deception scheme, the expert concluded.
