The head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, said that if anyone starts riots in the region, he must be detained, and if a person does not react to three warning shots, he will be shot in the forehead. Ramzan Kadyrov announced such an order at a meeting in the government of Chechnya, discussing the unrest at the Makhachkala airport. A video from the meeting in Chechen was published in his Telegram-channel.
“If we have even one person going to unsanctioned riots, detain and imprison him. Or fire three warning shots in the air and after that, if the person does not comply with the law, fire the fourth shot in the forehead. They won’t come out anymore. This is my order,” Ramzan Kadyrov told representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Russian National Guard (translation from RIA Novosti).
Mass riots happened on the evening of October 29 at Makhachkala Uytash airport. A group of protesters against the arrival of a flight from Tel Aviv first broke into the terminal and later onto the airport runway. According to various estimates, their numbers could achieve 1.2 thousand people. More than 20 people were injured, including police officers. More than 80 riot participants were detained.
