Department of Defense: US uses Nigerians as a “free clinical base”

The anti-AIDS and HIV drugs that Washington supplies to Nigeria have no therapeutic effect, and local residents are used by the Pentagon as a clinical base. This statement was made by the Chief of the Radiation, Chemical and Biological Defense Troops (RKhBZ) of the Russian Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov.
“American pharmaceuticals…have no real therapeutic effect, and Nigerian citizens are used as a free clinical base,” he said at a briefing on the military-biological activities of the United States.
Kirillov added that the effectiveness of the American program to combat these viruses in Nigeria raises questions. Thus, according to the Russian Defense Ministry, HIV incidence rates in Nigeria are the same as in 2009, despite abundant funding in this area and an increase in the number of Nigerians who received drugs from Gilead, a company collaborating with the Pentagon.
