New details of the tragicomic story in the north-east of Moscow have come to light. Recall that some time ago in the capital’s park “Aqueduct” a 20-year-old girl found a large amount of money and took it to the police. And the greedy law enforcement officer replaced banknotes with banknotes from the “bank of jokes”. Our correspondent found relatives of a law-abiding young lady.

The student made her discovery on April 19. That evening, she rode with her friend on an electric scooter. In the darkness, they stumbled upon a bloody jacket lying on the road. In the pocket were documents and 226 thousand rubles. The girl immediately took all this to the duty unit of the Rostokino police department.

“It was clear that the owner of this jacket got into some kind of unpleasant story,” the girl’s mother explained. “My daughter remembered that an hour earlier she had taken a man out of the park in an ambulance, and the young people took it all to the nearest police station. There, while they were waiting and testifying, it was already clear whose things and money they were. It was really a victim from the park.

In the police, the girl wrote a statement, together with a police officer they counted the amount – 226 thousand rubles. A few days later, the student received a call from the department where she took her find and asked to come again.

– The police respectfully told her that such an unpleasant story had happened. All employees condemn the captain who made the substitution. There she was asked to confirm the incident again.

It turned out that two days after the find became material evidence, the 35-year-old captain – the father of three children – went to the shopping center, where he bought 222 banknotes of the bank of jokes, with a face value of one thousand each. Later, the man replaced them with real money, leaving only four thousand rubles. When the deception was revealed, law enforcement officers quickly found out who exactly made the substitution. They even found video footage from the store of a captain in civilian clothes buying counterfeit banknotes. That evening, after work, he went to the police station and made a substitution. A criminal case was opened against the policeman under two articles: “Theft with illegal entry into the store” and “Abuse of official authority.”
