The court verdict ended the scandalous story at Sheremetyevo airport, when a boarding bridge controlled by a driver who was “high” crashed into a plane. The passenger gangway operator denied using drugs, but an examination showed otherwise. As a result, trying to diversify his evening shift cost him dearly.

As MK reported at the time, a wild incident occurred on the evening of January 10 this year, shortly before the Boeing took off from Moscow to Krasnoyarsk. The passengers had already finished boarding, but the production management engineer was still on board. He was supposed to leave the cabin, but it was at that moment that the operator of the telescopic bridge began to drive the “sleeve” away from the door, although he was not given such a command. At the same time, he managed to scratch the fuselage of the plane, so much so that the Boeing had to be urgently removed from the route. When airport staff looked into the operator’s cabin of the boarding bridge, they found a 34-year-old man reclining unconscious! He was hospitalized, and already in the hospital the cause of the sudden loss of consciousness was revealed – the operator was in a state of drug intoxication. Atropine and a synthetic psychostimulant were found in his blood.

Having regained consciousness, the employee escaped from the hospital, and two days later presented a certificate denying the presence of prohibited substances in his blood. But this analysis was dated January 13, so he could not challenge the original diagnosis. First, the man was brought to administrative responsibility – he was fined 4,000 rubles for drug use. And then a criminal case was opened under Article 238 Part 1 of the Criminal Code. The investigation considered that by his actions the operator of the ground equipment operation directorate put at risk the lives of both his fellow engineer and all passengers of the Boeing, i.e. Simply put, he provided a dangerous service. According to the verdict of the Khimki court, the operator of the telescopic bridge will pay another fine – 100 thousand rubles.
