Governor of Sevastopol Mikhail Razvozhaev in his Telegram channel answered to complaints from local residents about the condition of the shelters. He asked to stop “spreading panic and making our enemies happy.”
“We prepared shelters while the city was relatively calm, a year ago. But what is happening now is already reality. And it is impossible to foresee everything. There is also a human factor,” Razvozhaev wrote.
He admitted that specific issues are now arising regarding shelters, which Razvozhaev promised to resolve. According to him, he instructed the director of the urban services department of the Government of Sevastopol, Evgeniy Gorlov, to begin making rounds with management companies for temporary shelters and deal with all situations.
In addition, the head of Sevastopol urged residents “not to wait” for someone to come and completely equip all the shelters. He emphasized that it is impossible to equip all temporary shelters, since billions will need to be spent on this, and also that they are not bomb shelters. They are designed to provide shelter from rocket fragments and broken glass, the city governor added.
