International tournament “Grand Prix” in SAMBO will be held in Krasnodar “Basket Hall”

The international tournament “Grand Prix” in sambo will be held in the Kuban capital. The championship, in which more than 100 strongest athletes from Europe and the CIS will compete for awards, will begin this Saturday, June 24th. This information was shared in the press service of the regional administration.
Prizes will be awarded in seven weight categories of sports and combat sambo. Russia will be represented on the mat by sambists of the national team. At the same time, there will be Kuban athletes in each weight category.
Serafim Timchenko, Minister of Physical Culture and Sports of the Krasnodar Territory, emphasized that SAMBO has been successfully developing in the region for many years. Kuban is rich in strong fighters, so the regional center has become a platform where the strongest will converge. “I am sure that tournaments of this level will attract even more SAMBO fans into their ranks,” the minister said.
The first fights will start at 10 am, and the last – at 17 pm. Free admission.
Earlier, MK Sochi talked about volleyball tournament for the cup of the head of Krasnodar. Recall that youth sports teams from 9 constituent entities of the Russian Federation fought for the main award.
