The authorities of Vladivostok are faced with the problem of a shortage of buses on city routes in connection with the Muslim holiday of Eid al-Adha. Collective holiday prayers are held in Russian mosques early in the morning on April 10, and many drivers of trucking companies decided to take part in this event.
The place of mass prayer for Eid al-Adha in Vladivostok was a parking lot near the Fetisov Arena concert and sports complex in the suburbs of the city.
The press service of the mayor’s office told journalists that the exact number of buses that were not on the line was not specified. The Department of Motor Transport intends to impose penalties on carriers.
Eid al-Fitr is the day of the end of fasting in the holy month of Ramadan. For 30 days, believers refused to eat and drink during daylight hours. Only after morning prayer on the holiday do strict restrictions disappear, and dishes accepted in Islam can be placed on the table.
