Head of UEFA Pavelko arrested until August 14
The head of the Ukrainian Football Association (UAF), Andriy Pavelko, has been arrested until August 14. The pledge made before that will be transferred in favor of the state. This decision was announced by the Shevchenko district court of Lviv. It is reported by FootballHub.
In November last year, the Kyiv Pechersk Court arrested Pavelko. Then the UAF paid a bail for him in the amount of 9.88 million hryvnia, thanks to which he escaped imprisonment.
Pavelko is suspected of misappropriation of international aid funds that were allocated for the construction of a plant for the production of synthetic grass.
Since March 2015, Pavelko has been the head of the UAF. In February of this year, he was temporarily suspended from work. Since 2019, he has also become a member of the executive committee of the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA).
