Gaidar Institute survey: 47% of enterprises complain about staff shortages
Employees of the Institute of Economic Policy named after. Gaidar conducted a survey and found out that in Russia in January of this year the level of personnel shortage at enterprises reached 47%.
It is clarified that this is a new anti-record since 1996. The previous maximum was recorded in the summer of 2023, when 42% of managers complained about personnel shortages. RBC reports this.
This survey is conducted once every three months for more than a thousand industrial enterprises. Respondents are offered three answer options: “more than enough” employees, “enough” and “not enough”. However, only 2% of respondents chose the first answer option in January of this year.
Enterprise managers respond to personnel shortages by increasing wages. In particular, at the end of last year, an increase in wages for existing and new employees was recorded at 47% of enterprises.
Experts noted that the peak of wages in the Russian Federation has already passed, since most companies do not have sufficient resources to increase wages.
