Scientists during archaeological work discovered a rich burial of a status woman in the Belorechensky district of the Kuban on the barrows of the 13th-15th centuries AD. This was reported in the press service of the administration of the Krasnodar Territory.
“Specialists have established that the burial was repeatedly looted. However, some of the items of the era have been preserved in the burials – elements of clothing: bronze belt sets, sewn-on plaques and pendants, decorative details of a women’s headdress,” the report says.
They also added that the found fragments of silk fabric testify to the high status and wealth of the buried.
According to Sergey Boldin, Vice-Governor of the Krasnodar Territory, the excavations were carried out as part of a set of measures to preserve cultural heritage sites.
