Organizers of mass New Year’s, sports and cultural events in St. Petersburg must use medical masks from December 20. Relevant resolution signed by the city’s chief sanitary doctor Natalia Bashketova.
“Heads of all organizations and institutions, regardless of their form of ownership, when organizing and holding mass New Year’s, sports and cultural events, must ensure that employees use personal respiratory protection equipment (masks),” the resolution says.
The mask regime will continue to apply in inpatient and outpatient medical organizations, as well as in social service institutions. In medical organizations, a ban on visitors is being introduced, with the exception of those caring for seriously ill and bedridden patients. The decree is valid from December 20 until further notice.
Schools must cancel classes for at least seven days if 20% of students are absent from a class with flu, colds or coronavirus. If there are two or more patients with community-acquired pneumonia in a class, classes must be canceled for at least ten days. It is necessary to temporarily suspend the educational process if ten or more cases of community-acquired pneumonia are registered.
The document states that in recent weeks the city has seen a sharp increase in the incidence of influenza, ARVI, coronavirus infection and community-acquired pneumonia. The incidence of acute respiratory viral infections over the month increased by 87.1%, coronavirus – by 62.4%, community-acquired pneumonia – by 35.3%. For preventive purposes, the city department of Rospotrebnadzor introduced a number of restrictions.
