In Russia, medical examinations of working citizens will begin in 2024

In 2024, the compulsory health insurance (CHI) program will include a separate tariff for monitoring Russians regarding their reproductive health, as well as a separate tariff for medical examinations for the health of workers. This was announced by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova.
“In the program with a separate tariff, we have provided medical examinations for men and women to assess their reproductive health. To bring medical care closer to working citizens, starting next year we will introduce dispensary observation of workers at a separate rate for the compulsory medical insurance system,” Ms. Golikova said during the “National Health Care” congress, which is being held at VDNKh. Her words are quoted by TASS.
As the Deputy Prime Minister clarified, dispensary observation in the workplace can be organized either by the medical department of the employer itself in cooperation with the nearest medical facility, or through concluding an agreement with a medical organization.
Tatyana Golikova emphasized that the Russian Constitution guarantees all citizens the right to receive medical care. “In order to comply with it, especially in relation to the contingent assigned to medical organizations of the Federal Medical-Biological Agency and to those organizations that are the only ones in the locality, we are introducing a separate procedure for providing a capitation standard on equal terms with other organizations,” she added.
In Russia, the medical examination program started in 2013. Its implementation is carried out within the framework of the compulsory health insurance system, that is, Russians can undergo medical examination free of charge under the compulsory medical insurance policy. Citizens can undergo medical examination at a clinic or other medical institution to which they are assigned at their place of residence.
From 2024, for the first time, preventive measures will include testing for antibodies to hepatitis C. All Russians over 25 years of age will be able to undergo screening for free once every ten years.
