The Zelenograd District Court of Moscow for the first time fined a resident of Russia for demonstrating the previously banned white-blue-white flag, which is a symbol of the Ukrainian Legion “Freedom of Russia” (the organization is recognized as a terrorist organization and banned in Russia).

As reported “RIA News” in court, a fine of 2 thousand rubles. was discharged to a resident of Moscow, she was found guilty under the article: “Public demonstration of the symbols of a terrorist organization” (Article 20.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation).

“The fined woman demonstrated to pedestrians and citizens in passing cars on the state registration plate the symbolism in the form of a flag with the colors white-blue-white, which is the official symbol of the Ukrainian organization Legion “Freedom of Russia,” the court said, specifying that the demonstration white-blue-white flag is prohibited in Russia.

In March 2023, the Supreme Court (SC) of Russia acknowledged “Legion “Freedom of Russia”” terrorist and banned it in the country. Thus, the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation satisfied the request of the Prosecutor General’s Office, with which it applied to the authority on February 6. According to the oversight agency, the “Legion” was created in Ukraine to undermine the foundations of the constitutional order and overthrow the government, including through terrorist attacks.

The Ukrainian authorities called the Legion “Freedom of Russia” a subdivision of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which is engaged in carrying out tasks in the zone of armed conflict, as well as carrying out sabotage on the territory of Russia. At the same time, the exact number of units is unknown, and the sectors and directions of the front, where the fighters of the “Legion” Freedom of Russia “are involved, are also not called.”

The white-blue-white flag as its symbol, in addition to the Legion “Freedom of Russia”, is also used by the organization “Congress of People’s Deputies” (included in the register of undesirable organizations), whose leaders deny the territorial integrity of Russia.
