In Russia, 41.6 thousand infected with COVID-19 were detected per day

In Russia, 41,690 cases of coronavirus infection were registered over the past day. This is 13.2% less than the day before (48,042). The number of daily hospitalizations amounted to 1830 – 18.3% lower than the previous figure (2239), said the operational headquarters for combating COVID-19.

Regions leading in the number of new cases:

  • Moscow – 4006 (for all time – 3,057,617);
  • St. Petersburg – 2997 (1,673,764);
  • Samara region – 1635 (415 596);
  • Sverdlovsk region – 1530 (478 326);
  • Voronezh region – 1249 (415,039).

During the day, 76 patients died in Russia, which is 11 people less than yesterday (87). Most of the dead were in Moscow (31) and St. Petersburg (12). The total number of deaths reached 384,787. 30,703 people recovered during the day, in total – 18,777,401.

Since July 1, all coronavirus restrictions have been lifted in Russia. In August, against the backdrop of an increase in the number of infected, Roszdravnadzor recommended Resume COVID-19 vaccination in areas with high incidence. In Rospotrebnadzor earlier today, August 5, declaredthat the incidence has declined.
