In Moscow, at the Troekurovsky cemetery, a farewell ceremony is being held for the president of the National Association of Broadcasters, Eduard Sagalaev. He died May 13 at the age of 76. Several dozen people attended the ceremony, TASS reports.
Among the guests were Konstantin Ernst, General Director of Channel One, Oleg Dobrodeev, General Director of the All-Russian State Television and Radio Company, Vitaly Ignatenko, General Director of the Public Television of Russia, Mikhail Gusman, First Deputy General Director of TASS, Alexander Khinshtein, Head of the State Duma Committee on Information Policy, TV presenter Leonid Yakubovich, Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for International Cultural cooperation Mikhail Shvydkoy.
Mr. Sagalaev has been president of the National Association of Broadcasters for nearly 30 years, since 1995. In 2018, he was awarded the title of Honored Journalist of Russia. He was also awarded the Russian Order “For Merit to the Fatherland” IV and III degrees. President Vladimir Putin named his legend of Russian journalism.
