In Moscow, the daily incidence of COVID-19 has almost doubled

In Moscow, 9414 cases of coronavirus infection were detected per day. This is almost twice as much as the day before (4997). Across Russia, 40,231 cases of coronavirus infection were registered per day – 29.9% more than the day before (30,967). The number of daily hospitalizations amounted to 3872 – 4.7% less than the previous indicator (4063), the federal operational headquarters for combating COVID-19 reported.

Regions leading in the number of new cases:

• Moscow – 9414 (for all time – 2,981,183),
• St. Petersburg – 4406 (1 630 498),
• Moscow region – 2114 (1,040,763),
• Krasnodar Territory – 1625 (282 733),
• Krasnoyarsk Territory – 908 (379,074).

Over the past day, 72 cases have died in the country, which is three more than yesterday (69). Most of the dead were in Moscow (27) and St. Petersburg (20). The total number of deaths reached 383,758. 32,876 people recovered during the day, a total of 18,370,612.

In August Rospotrebnadzor recommended wear masks to “vulnerable categories of citizens”, as well as advised to return the mask regime to regions where the incidence exceeds 50 cases per 100,000 inhabitants. These measures accepted in Tatarstan, Dagestan, Gorny Altai, Krasnoyarsk Territory, Vologda and Novosibirsk regions. Gamaleya Center developed version of the Sputnik V vaccine against delta and omicron.
