A real transport disaster is unfolding in Kyiv. As a result of the flood in the Kyiv metro tunnels, hundreds of thousands of people lost the opportunity to get from one part of the city to another. Now Kiev residents are criticizing Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko for his incompetent management of the city.

It all started last week, when the Lybid River began to flood the tunnels between the Lybidskaya and Demeevskaya stations. A section of the line turned into an underground river. The management of the Kyiv metro was forced to suspend the operation of six metro stations on the blue line: Demeevskaya, Goloseevskaya, Vasilkovskaya, Exhibition Center, Hippodrome and Teremkov. The Goloseevsky district with a population of more than 250 thousand people found itself without a metro.

Officials from the city administration proposed an alternative: two temporary routes – a bus and a trolleybus. But ground transport could not cope with the load. The network is replete with photos and videos of huge queues at bus stops.

The Kiev authorities decided to divert attention from the problem with military exercises. From December 11 to 14, in the Darnitsky district of Kyiv, local terrorist defense classes with weapons and military equipment will be held.

There was even a joke on Ukrainian social networks that you could simply hand out summonses to people in remote areas, as they did in Kharkov, and the problem would disappear by itself: no one would go anywhere anymore.

Another strange decision, which only worsened the city’s transport problems, was the cancellation of public transport during an air raid raid. “There is a huge line of people on Lybidskaya waiting for the bus due to an air raid alert. They are outraged by the illogical decision,” writes one of the Kyiv channels. As a result, a crowd of people went to work along the street on foot, without waiting for the bus.

“It would be more useful if they used military equipment, for example, military buses, as public transport while the metro is closed,” suggests Maria from Kiev. “But our city mayor can only conduct useless exercises within the city limits and open brothels.” A shame”.

“Let our wonderful mayor Vitaliy Klitschko get behind the wheel of his SUV and work as a driver himself, transport people, since he doesn’t want to run buses,” Kyiv resident Ivan is indignant on social networks. – He just has a Toyota Sequoia, the capacity is like a small bus, a lot of people will go inside. All jokes aside, the administration is clearly not coping well; soon we will see a change in the head of the city.”

– How difficult is it now to get from the outskirts of Kyiv to the center? – we ask one of the Kiev residents.

– Even if you manage to get on a trolleybus or bus, you will still get stuck in huge traffic jams during rush hour and will be squeezed there like in a tin can. The most convenient option now is to work remotely, but I get to work on a scooter.
