In Kazakhstan, in the city of Semey, a bridge opened up due to frost
Due to severe frosts, gaps appeared at the seams on the suspension road bridge. According to activists, the length of the cracks in some places reaches 20 centimeters. City officials are now monitoring the gaps. They will assure you that there is no threat of collapse, writes the Telegram channel Orda.
“On February 16, at an air temperature of −29 degrees, expansion joints and visible structures of the suspension bridge supports were visually inspected. Gaps of about 70 mm were found on support No. 1 and 60 mm on support No. 10 between the ridges of the expansion joints. The condition of the bridge supports is assessed as satisfactory; no threat of bridge collapse has been identified,” the Semey akimat reported.
