The Ministry of Emergency Situations urges residents and guests of Kamchatka not to come close to the erupting Klyuchevsky volcano and, especially, not to climb. This can be dangerous to life and health.
Advertisements from so-called “gray” travel agencies have appeared on the Internet, offering to take tourists to the erupting volcano for money.
However, there is no guarantee that they will be able to ensure the safety of people on these trips.
Currently, the summit effusive-explosive eruption continues on the Klyuchevsky volcano. Ash emissions up to 12,000 meters high are possible at any time.
According to the Institute of Volcanology and Seismology, Far Eastern Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, a lava flow descends along the Krestovsky chute of Klyuchevsky volcano, causing phreatic explosions upon contact with water and ice. As a result, mud-stone flows descend along the Krutenkaya and Kergurich rivers in the Ust-Kamchatka region.
It is very dangerous to try to ford rivers that are filled with water due to melting glaciers, especially the Krutenkaya River.
