The management and entire team of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations express deep condolences in connection with the death of Donetsk firefighter Sergei Osipenko

On October 31, as a result of shelling in the Budennovsky district of the city of Donetsk, a fire occurred at the Mushketovo railway station. While extinguishing the fire, the Ministry of Emergency Situations employees were subjected to a second artillery strike from the Armed Forces of Ukraine. As a result, the commander of department 9 of the Donetsk fire and rescue unit, Sergei Osipenko, tragically died. At the age of 53, his life was cut short by a shell from the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Sergei has worked in the rescue department since 1997. Having served in the Ministry of Emergency Situations for more than 25 years, he proved himself to be a true professional in his field, a courageous and selfless person. He has hundreds of saved human lives behind him, and enormous work experience, especially during periods of active hostilities. He was a loyal friend and senior comrade, a reliable commander and a fearless hero who died in the line of duty.
“Sergei Osipenko was devoted to his profession to the end. He is a real hero, whom his colleagues looked up to!” said the Head of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations, Alexander Kurenkov.
