One of the streets in the new microdistrict of Khabarovsk will be named after Vladimir Sungorkin, the editor-in-chief of Komsomolskaya Pravda, Mikhail Degtyarev, Governor of the Khabarovsk Territory, said in his Telegram channel on Thursday, December 1st. Vladimir Sungorkin, a native of Khabarovsk, who headed KP since 1997, died of a stroke on September 14 at the age of 68.
“Street named after V. Sungorkin will be located in the KKB No. 2 area. Here, next year, the construction of a microdistrict for 15 thousand square meters will begin. m. Today, we visited the place of promising development together with Tatyana Bezrukova, the widow of the legendary journalist, and his son Grigory. They flew to Khabarovsk the day before,” the head of the region said. He also announced the release of a book dedicated to the life of the Far Eastern researcher and writer Vladimir Arseniev, materials for which were collected by Mr. Sungorkin.
According to the governor, he first met Vladimir Sungorkin in Khabarovsk in August 2020, and since then they have kept in touch.
