The leadership of the Danish school in the city of Helsingør refused to fire a teacher of Russian origin because of a conflict with Ukrainian students. This is reported by TV channel TV2.
It is noted that Ukrainian children began to persecute the teacher because of his origin, and the mothers of these students demanded the dismissal of the teacher.
The conflict culminated on February 24, the first anniversary of the start of a special military operation in Ukraine, after which the parents of several students again demanded that the teacher be replaced.
In turn, the school management indicated that the teacher had lived in the country for more than 20 years, had many years of experience and pedagogical education, so no one would fire him.
The position of the school was supported by the mayor of the city, Benedikte Kjær, who said that in Denmark people are not fired and do not discriminate on the basis of nationality.
Today, 40,000 Ukrainian refugees live in Denmark.
