Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus’ said that ill-wishers are trying to pit representatives of two traditional religions in Russia. This is how he commented on the terrorist attack that occurred at Crocus City Hall on March 22.

“Scenarios are being played out using religious and interethnic factors… An attempt was made to pit two traditional religions against each other, to divide people according to religious principles and also pit one against the other. Of course, we cannot allow anything like this in Russia,” said Patriarch Kirill at the congress of the World Russian People’s Council (quote from TASS).

To split society, he said, opponents tried to use internal problems with the migration situation in the country. However, “the efforts of opponents who dream of destroying Russia are being defeated” by the ideological and moral unity of Orthodox and Muslims.

On the evening of March 22, armed men burst into Crocus City Hall, opened fire on people and set the building on fire. 139 people died. The number of victims, according to the Center for Disaster Medicine, increased up to 360.

About the reaction of the authorities to the terrorist attack – in the text of Kommersant “Supervision is aimed at specific goals”.
