Huawei unveils Mate X3 foldable smartphone with satellite connectivity

Huawei as part of a large-scale presentation of new products introduced The new Mate X3 foldable smartphone is the world’s first satellite-enabled foldable smartphone. In the Chinese market, the new smartphone will be available from April, and deliveries to other countries have not yet been reported.
The novelty received an external 6.4-inch OLED screen (2504×1080) and an internal 7.8-inch OLED display (2496×2224) with proprietary protective glass Kunlun. The smartphone is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip coupled with 8GB or 12GB of RAM and 256GB or 512GB or 1TB of internal storage.
For the Mate X3, support for satellite communications based on the Chinese Beidou group is announced – this technology was not previously offered in folding smartphones. Also, the novelty for the first time among Huawei folding devices received moisture protection according to the IPX8 standard. The new hinge is said to achieve an unfolded thickness of 5.3mm and a total weight of 239g, making the Mate X3 the thinnest and lightest foldable smartphone on the market.
The smartphone is equipped with an 8 MP front camera, and the main unit includes a 50 MP module, a 13 MP ultra-wide-angle lens and a 12 MP telephoto lens with a fivefold zoom. The 4800mAh battery supports 66W wired charging, 50W wireless charging and 7.5W reverse charging. The novelty also has an NFC module.
The Huawei Mate X3 will go on sale with the HarmonyOS 3.1 operating system.
