Astrophysicists explain why the interstellar asteroid Oumuamua is moving with acceleration

Daryl Seligman of the University of Chicago and Jennifer Bergner of Cornell University have proposed an explanation for the fact that the asteroid Oumuamua is moving at an acceleration that cannot be explained by the gravity of the Sun and other space objects.
Asteroid 1I/Oumuamua is interstellar – it did not originate in the solar system and is expected to leave it. In this regard, some astrophysicists tried to explain its acceleration, including by alien technologies, although this idea was quickly rejected.
The authors of the publication in the journal Nature suggest that the space object began to heat up as it approached the Sun, and to throw out molecular hydrogen, which was previously in “ice traps”. These molecules gave it the acceleration, Seligman and Bergner believe.
