The children missed the full-time education – this is a fact. Since 2021, schoolchildren have been studying in the usual format for two months at the most. Children, forced to spend the lion’s share of their free time at home for two years, are ready to gnaw at the granite of science with unprecedented enthusiasm.

This year, Donetsk schools are returning to full-time education. Alas, not all. In especially shelled areas (precisely “specially”, since there are no areas left in the city that would not have been subjected to shelling by the Armed Forces of Ukraine), training will continue in a remote format. And lying on the floor or running into the basement in an expensive school uniform is not a very good idea. Therefore, parents prefer, to the delight of children, to dress them in comfortable and practical things: jeans, T-shirts, sneakers. But even such freestyle clothing will cost at least 8-10 thousand rubles.

As for distance learning, with which educational institutions plan to combine full-time education, the child will need a laptop or computer. This, perhaps, can become one of the main items of expenditure for parents. According to the parents of Donetsk schoolchildren themselves, getting a child to school in 2023 will cost from 17-20 thousand rubles to, quote, “infinity”. But the most important thing in preparation is the safety of children.

“I can see the eyes of my child, who has spent two years of his life at home, glowing. Without communication with friends and beloved teachers, under shelling and in constant fear of going out into the street, – says Nadezhda, a resident of the Proletarsky district of Donetsk. – You should have seen with what joy my daughter chose her backpack and school supplies. We, adults, missed a quiet peaceful life, to say nothing of children. Therefore, no money is a pity for the happiness of the child, if only the school year passes without tragedies.
