ATOR: due to the small number of tourists in Abkhazia, hotel prices have been reduced
The relatively small number of tourists in Abkhaz hotels has led to a drop in room prices, according to the Association of Tour Operators (ATOR).
Low temperatures in May and June halted demand for tours to Abkhazia, leaving about 70% of hotel owners facing a shortage of customers.
“To remedy the situation, hoteliers have released special offers for arrivals until June 20 … and for accommodation until June 30,” the association said, citing data from the Dolphin tour operator.
Representatives of the national tour operator “Alean” announced a cost reduction of about 30%. Intourist clarified that vacation prices were reduced only for certain less relevant dates and room categories.
It is reported that the best deals come from hotels that do not offer tomorrow, lunch and dinner. Most often they are offered by hotels in Sukhum and Gudauta, but there are also special promotions in Pitsundra, New Athos and Gagra.
