Federation Council adopted amendments into the laws “On Refugees” and “On the Legal Status of Foreign Citizens in Russia”, which excluded residents of the DPR and LPR from the number of foreign citizens.
The same amendments in relation to residents of the DPR and LPR abolish the requirement to transfer a passport and other identity cards for storage to the territorial bodies of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs upon obtaining temporary asylum.
The law was prepared by the Russian government. On May 23, it was adopted by the State Duma in the third reading.
