Among Russian men involved in programming and developing IT projects, 66% do not have a specialized education, according to a study by the recruiting company HeadHunter (HH). The presence of higher education in the field of IT, as reported by the Ministry of Digital Development, is necessary to obtain a deferment from the mobilization of employees of the technology sector.
“According to the hh.ru resume database for 2022, 66% (or 170 thousand) of developers and programmers among men do not have a specialized higher education, only one in three has a specialized higher education,” TASS quotes excerpts from the HH study. It notes that most often non-core higher education is found among programmers of the 45+ age group (in 78% of cases).
September 23, head of the Ministry of Digital Development Maksut Shadayev supported an initiative to grant a deferment from mobilization for employees of the media and the IT sector. According to the clarifications of the department, one of the criteria for granting a deferral is the availability of specialized education.
