Vice-President of the Moscow Chamber of Advocates Henry Reznik left the Human Rights Council (HRC) under the President of the Russian Federation. Mr Reznik told “Lawyer Street”that he did this on the eve of the HRC meeting with Vladimir Putin, which passed December 7th. He declined to comment on the reasons for his decision.
In October, Henry Resnick retired from the board of the Federal Bar. He also filed an application for resignation from the public council under the Ministry of Justice.
At the end of November, Vladimir Putin changed composition of the HRC, excluding ten people from it, including journalists Nikolai Svanidze and Ekaterina Vinokurova. The new composition of the council, in particular, included the military correspondent of Komsomolskaya Pravda Alexander Kots and the executive secretary of the Moscow PMC Alexei Melnikov.
