Meghan Markle says her engagement to Prince Harry was orchestrated

The Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle revealed in the third episode of the Netflix documentary series Harry & Meghan that her engagement to Prince Harry in 2017 was staged.
According to her, all the events around the couple’s engagement were staged by members of the royal family and courtiers. Markle compared the situation to an episode of a reality show. She clarified that she and Prince Harry were literally being prepared for the event, making it clear what they should not do and what is not recommended to say.
It is noted that the episode also shows footage from 2017, in which the wife of Prince William Kate Middleton and future queen consort Camilla express their joy over the engagement of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, and the couple, in turn, called William and Middleton “wonderful and responsive.” In a recent interview with the series, the couple stressed that while they had the status of senior members of the royal family, they were “not allowed to tell their story.”
