Greece lights the flame for the Summer Olympics in Paris

The Olympic flame for the upcoming 2024 Summer Games in Paris was lit in Greece. The flame broke out on the altar of the ancient Greek temple of Hera in Olympia and will travel with the relay to France.
Throughout Greece, the fire will be carried by 600 torchbearers. And after 10 days it will be handed over to the organizers of the Paris Olympics for subsequent delivery to Marseille.
The 2024 Summer Olympics will begin on July 26. Athletes from Russia and Belarus are allowed to compete only in a neutral status. They are prohibited from showing ties to their countries and from taking part in team tournaments.
