Learning with artificial intelligence

“Our tomorrow will be impossible without digital technologies. All areas without exception – science, agriculture, architecture, mechanical engineering, medicine – will rely on cutting-edge digital technologies and specialists in the field of artificial intelligence. “School 21” trains specialists of the highest level. We, Sber, as an employer, and we employ about 45 thousand engineers in the company, do not see any equal in terms of the quality of training,” said German Gref.

The company said that the campus in Yaroslavl was created in partnership with the authorities of the Yaroslavl region. Its area is 2500 sq. m., and the clusters with workspaces are named after the great figures who glorified the Yaroslavl region: “Wise”, “Tkachenko”, “Ushakov” and “Volkov”.

Yaroslavl digital hub

“I would like to thank the entire Sber team for their support in implementing this project and everyone who took part in the opening of the Yaroslavl campus. This is a cool project for the capital of the Golden Ring of Russia. “School 21” is of great importance for the development of the region. This is a real breakthrough and a step forward. We have an industrially developed region. The demand for IT personnel is huge, and today it significantly exceeds supply. We will train personnel for the Yaroslavl region and other regions. We want to become a real large digital hub not only for the Yaroslavl region, but also for neighboring regions,” said Mikhail Evraev, governor of the Yaroslavl region.

The official noted that the number of applications to participate in the school exceeded two thousand. And in addition to local residents, residents of Ivanovo, Kostroma, St. Petersburg and other cities take part in the selection. In addition, the governor announced plans to expand the school and triple the number of students on campus.

To date, 160 people are participating in the intensive selection program at the Yaroslavl campus. The average age of participants is 18–25 years old, and the oldest student taking the course is 52 years old. Among those wishing to come to campus are physical education and biology teachers, realtors, and representatives of other professions. Today, over 4,900 people from 70 regions study at School 21’s seven campuses in Russia.

“The school trains IT specialists in 14 specialties and will expand them. Moreover, we are working on opening schools in another 16 regions, and 9 of them will be opened this year. We are starting this year from Yaroslavl, from this beautiful campus. This is the fastest campus opening in terms of speed. And I want to say thank you to the governor’s team, our team and everyone who put a lot of effort into this project,” summed up the head of Sberbank German Gref.
