General Director of Avangard German Chistyakov spoke in his telegram channel about the resignation of Mikhail Kravets. He noted that this decision was not made based on emotions from one game.
“It was deliberate, born out of many hours of discussions. In principle, we don’t make decisions based on emotions,” – noted Chistyakov.
He also explained that the account 0:7 in the game with Lokomotiv on March 18 was not the only reason for changing the coach. The overall score in the series at that moment also played a role. German Chistyakov noted that such a decision, of course, was risky.
“The easiest thing was not to change anything and, in a bad situation, make the coach the last one. But we took responsibility. We understood: if we think that the team needs a different emotion, a different game, we need changes here and now, we need to act until the series is lost,” – wrote the general director of Avangard.
In addition, German Chistyakov expressed gratitude to Mikhail Kravets for leading the team out of the crisis during a difficult period and being able to achieve high results.
