On April 11, Magnitogorsk hosted the fifth game of the KHL semi-final between the local Metallurg and Avtomobilist from Yekaterinburg. The guests lost with a score of 5:2.

“We lost a nickel, conceded a goal in front of our own goal. Then the opponent caught us on a counterattack. It’s great that they showed character and equalized the score in the match. However, an unnecessary, unjustified sending off decided the outcome of the meeting,” Avtomobilist head coach Nikolai Zavarukhin said after the match.

The series score became 2:3 in favor of Metallurg. The sixth game between the teams will take place on April 13 in Yekaterinburg.
