After a collision of two tankers on the Lena River in the Irkutsk region, gasoline spilled into the water. There were no casualties as a result of the incident. Transport Investigation Department holds pre-investigation check.
The collision took place near the village of Alekseevsk, Kirensky district today, June 12. One of the vessels, the TR-901 tanker, was under repair in the port. Tanker TR-900 “Erofey Khabarovsk” was carrying 832 tons of gasoline.
“As a result of the collision, a tank with gasoline was damaged, part of the fuel got into the river,”— informs Eastern Interregional Investigation Department for Transport of the TFR.
The check is carried out on the grounds of crimes under Part 1 of Art. 263 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (violation of traffic safety rules and operation of inland water transport), art. 246 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (violation of the rules of environmental protection in the course of work). According to its results, a procedural decision will be made.
