Gas has come to the family anthill!

This can be explained. The father of a large large family with five heirs is unlikely to have a free moment to talk to a journalist. But the third time I was lucky, I think doubly so. Because I managed to talk with Rasul’s mother, Khadizha. On that day, she was in no hurry, although, as it turned out, the whole house rests only on her. And in general, in the village of Nuradilovo, Khasavyurt district of Dagestan, the people live a working life, they do not accept an idle life, otherwise you will not survive. Therefore, most of the locals have their own farms. And with the advent of natural gas in these parts, someone may expand the scope of their activities. And someone will have more free time.

– I heard that you managed to save as much as 300 thousand. After all, before the fence of your household, the gas workers conducted communications for free with a length of almost 100 meters.

“Oh, I don’t know how much we saved. Employees of the gas service know better. Only this new house, where gas was installed, we have been building for almost 10 years. How much sweat was invested in it, funds, moral resources. We thought we would not finish it, the forces would run out. And for a new gas stove, they set aside funds from child benefits. After all, the state provides assistance for five children. In total, it comes out – 65 thousand rubles. Part of the money goes to baby food, diapers, but something can be saved to improve life. We really needed a 6 burner stove. The smaller one doesn’t work for us. After all, there are a lot of people in the family.

– How many of you?

– Now there are 12 people. But you will be even more surprised when you find out that now they all live in the same house where I settled when I got married back in 1987. Yes, yes, the move to a new house, which we have all been building for almost a decade and where gas came in early August, will most likely take place closer to winter. After all, today there is still a lot of things to equip: clean up, bring in furniture, equip the kitchen. In general, to create conditions for life.

What are your conditions now?

The conditions can be explained in two or three sentences. And immediately everything becomes clear. Everyone now lives and lives in our small house – an anthill. It stands next to the new one. Our anthill, although small, is very spacious. Somehow 12 people fit in here. There are only four rooms in my house. Two of them are occupied by Rasul and his family. The other two are our youngest son with his wife and children. I myself live in the kitchen. And the kitchen itself is located in the yard. When I got married, my husband and I had four children: two daughters and two sons. All of them have families of their own. The daughters live with their husbands. We have our own traditions in Dagestan.

Strict customs

If there are several sons in a Dagestan family, the older ones can live separately from their parents. But the youngest son must stay with his parents. It goes without saying that both the house and property will remain to the younger.

– Rasul is our eldest son. So he must go to his house. The one that took a long time to build. The older children who have separated from us do not apply for anything. This tradition mainly exists among the Dargins, Kumyks, Lezgins. But other peoples who live in Dagestan also have similar customs. Many in our area know the parable of how the messenger of God rode the earth on a mule and distributed languages ​​from a huge bag to all peoples: the Chinese – Chinese, the Arabs – Arabic, the Russians – Russian, the French – French, etc. There were different languages: one melodious , another crackling, the third hard, the fourth colorful, the fifth tender, etc. The peoples rejoiced at such a gift and immediately began to speak humanly, each in his own language. Thanks to their languages, people got to know each other better, and the people got to know another, neighboring people better, – says Khadija. – Here the envoy arrived on a mule to our Dagestan. But it so happened that a snow storm broke out in our harsh mountains that day. From the deep gorges to the very sky, nothing was visible – neither the road nor the houses. All that could be heard was the roar, the rumble of stone falls, and the roar of the rivers. The tongue dispenser’s mustache froze. He got angry and poured out all the remaining languages ​​​​on the mountains and valleys, they say, sort it out yourself.

The spilled tongues were picked up by a storm, began to wear and throw over gorges and rocks. But then all the Dagestanis jumped out of their homes. Hurrying and pushing each other away, they ran towards the blessed golden rain, which they had been waiting for for thousands of years. They began to grab, collect the most precious grains, who got what. Everyone then got his own language. It was on the seventh day when all the other nations rested. The Dagestanis were busy: they were acquiring the greatest of treasures – the language.

Khadija even remembered a poem on this subject:

Dagestan, Dagestan,

These are forty different countries.

And yet only one

Miracle is a mountainous country.

God went through the world

Carrying a bag on his shoulder

And in the bag (no fools)

There were forty languages.

God stumbled on the mountain

And the bag fell apart!

Tongues fled

From river to river.

“For example, in our village of Nuradilovo, there are most representatives of Chechen nationality, then there are Avars, then Kumyks and Russians, then Dargins,” says Khadizha. – But our primordial traditions are observed most of all in distant villages. For example, there are even cases when a mother believes that her daughter-in-law is unworthy of her son. And it is not supposed to argue with the elders here. And even more so do not reckon with the opinion of the mother of her husband. Therefore, young wives have to endure criticism, reproaches and moralizing. Not all survive.

Gas in the economy is a huge help

Khadija also told about her subsidiary farm.

– On the ground I work from morning to evening. I’ve gotten used to this way of life since my marriage,” says Rasula Temaeva’s mother. We grow a lot of strawberries. It is believed that it is very profitable to grow those crops that are more expensive than others. For example, strawberries and garlic are just such. Our subsidiary farm saved the whole family from starvation more than once. When there are many children in families, first of all, it is necessary to lay such a “foundation” in them so that they do not get sick. After all, Rasul had six children, one baby died. I can’t remember this without crying. But life goes on.

Khadija quieted down, sighed and continued.

– It is in this old house that from the moment of marriage, consider, my whole life has passed. I have two places of power here – the land and the kitchen. I really like to cook healthy meals for my family,” says Khadija. – And gas came to Nuradilovo when the first Chechen war had not yet begun. I remember how we got our first 4 burner stove. It was a holiday. I remember how my husband spent heating. It became warm. In general, gas in the house evokes warm memories for me. This is a cozy yellow light in the window, smoke from the chimney, smells of baking, warm radiators. Social gasification of the Khasavyurt district is happy news for us. But for many, the name of our district evokes memories of a military conflict. We need to quickly forget about it and not look back. I imagine now how our village will be transformed. It’s only begining. The new house of Rasul and another large family was among the first to be connected. Gave compensation for gasification. After all, the area of ​​​​the constructed house is rather big – more than 200 square meters. m. Neighbors came and asked how everything went. The son told. Then I inquired and it turned out that several hundred people had already applied for gas supply. Process started.
