Citibank decided to remove all ATMs from Russia before the end of the year

Citibank, a subsidiary of the American Citigroup, is completing service at ATMs in the Russian Federation by the end of 2023. RBC writes about it.
“We are informing you about the start of the process of terminating service at AO Citibank ATMs. All ATMs will be dismantled by the end of 2023,” the company said in a statement.
Back in mid-spring 2021, Citigroup announced plans to reduce its presence in the Russian Federation. Then the company was going to complete work with individuals. In March last year, after the start of CBO, Citigroup stopped serving business clients as well.
At the end of the summer of 2022, Citigroup completed operations with corporate and retail clients of small and medium-sized businesses. In the autumn of the same year, it became known that the Russian Citibank would stop providing almost any banking services by the end of the first quarter of 2023.
At the beginning of August 2023, Citibank announced that they would start taking a 5 percent commission from customers for depositing cash in euros and dollars into an account using a cash desk. After 3 weeks, the bank completed the acceptance of cash euros and dollars through cash desks.
