Chairman of the All-Russian organization “Gardeners of Russia” Andrey Tumanov conversation with Channel Five told which animals are beneficial in the country.
According to him, among such animals are birds and lizards. Tumanov said that some birds peck at weed seeds.
In addition, wagtails, swallows, redstarts, flycatchers and forest tits destroy harmful insects. Rooks choose May beetles, wireworms from the soil and even pull out field mice.
Lizards, like hedgehogs, also help gardeners fight against harmful insects.
Lizards, in particular, can eat pests in the country – slugs, as well as moths and their caterpillars.
Country moles, despite the fact that most gardeners do not like them,
with their “work” they contribute to loosening the soil, saturating it with oxygen and moisture. And the moves of moles help to get rid of excess water in the area during heavy rains.
Spiders can also help. Many insects get into their nets, including flies, springtails, aphids and moths.
