Governor Kuyvashev said Roizman deserves justice

The governor of the Sverdlovsk region, Yevgeny Kuyvashev, said that the former mayor of Yekaterinburg, Yevgeny Roizman, who was detained today, deserves a fair treatment. “I have always had a difficult relationship with Evgeny Roizman. We were and are political opponents. But the law is the law. And like any person, he deserves justice and respect. I hope he gets them,” he wrote in his Telegram channel.
Mr. Kuyvashev noted that he hoped for the preservation of the Museum of the Nevyansk Icon in Yekaterinburg, which was created by Mr. Roizman. “I hope that the museum will be saved and it will work,” the governor added.
Evgeny Roizman detained today at 6 am local time. The searches began in his apartment and the museum of the Nevyansk icon. Later it became known that in relation to the ex-mayor of Yekaterinburg excited a criminal case on discrediting the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation (Article 280.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) because of a video on his YouTube channel (which video is in question is not specified). Mr Roizman himself thinksthat after the searches he would be transferred to Moscow, where, according to him, a criminal case was opened. Earlier, he was fined several times under Part 1 of Art. 20.3.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation (public actions aimed at discrediting the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation) for posts in social networks, decisions on fines entered into force.
