From January 1, pensions and other social payments in Moscow will increase by 10%

From January 1, 2023, the pensions of non-working pensioners and social payments to Muscovites of preferential categories will increase by 10%. The corresponding decree was signed by Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin.

The size of the increase in social benefits will be almost twice as high as the growth in city budget revenues in 2023, as well as higher than the level of indexation of tariffs for housing and communal services and public transport, the press service of the mayor and the government of Moscow reported.

It is specified that in the capital the minimum amount of a pension with a city supplement will be 23,313 rubles per month.

The size of one-time and monthly social payments to all privileged categories of Muscovites, including large families, orphans and children left without parental care, as well as to adoptive parents, guardians or trustees, foster families, will also increase by 10%; veterans of the Great Patriotic War and participants in the defense of Moscow, home front workers, labor veterans, war children, rehabilitated citizens; Muscovites aged 100 years and older.

In accordance with the new procedure for paying a single allowance for children from low-income families, its size in the new year can reach 100% of the child’s subsistence minimum – 18,770 rubles per month.

In addition, there will be a new payment for orphans.

“Moscow schoolchildren who have lost both or a single parent (orphans) during their studies will receive monthly monetary compensation intended for the purchase of food, clothing, footwear and soft furnishings. Previously, only students of colleges and universities received the specified payment, ”the press service of the mayor and the government of Moscow said in a statement.

From January 1, 2023, the amount of such payment will be 14,347 rubles per month.

Muscovites will also receive lump-sum payments, traditional for the capital, timed to coincide with socially significant events and memorable dates.

And all social benefits previously established by the authorities will remain unchanged in 2023.
