Former owner of Otkritie Bank arrested in the US

According to Reuters, a court in the United States arrested the former co-owner of Otkritie Bank Vadim Belyaev, who changed his last name to Wolfson. Gannon Bond was detained along with him.
Otkritie Bank encountered financial difficulties in 2017 and was declared bankrupt in July 2022. The amount of creditors’ claims exceeded 920 billion rubles.
According to the decision of the Moscow Arbitration Court dated January 2024, the funds and property of six former Otkritie executives, including Vadim Belyaev, were arrested at the request of the bankruptcy trustee.
