Russian test systems for detecting coronavirus RNA can detect all types of “omicron”. This was stated by the Federal Medical and Biological Agency. They assured that it was possible to identify new variants, such as BA.4, BA.5 and “centaur”.
Experts said that the number of mutations in different variants does not affect the qualitative detection of coronavirus. Test systems are made highly sensitive.
Rospotrebnadzor previously stated that variants of the omicron strain BA.4 and BA.5 predominate in Russia. The “centaur”, as well as the delta strain, account for isolated cases of infection.
