February 16 – buy furniture
[ad_1]
February 16 in the folk calendar – Pochinki. In Rus’, on this day, they were engaged in repairing horse harness, carts, shovels, rakes and other things that should be in perfect order by the beginning of field work.
On this day, men generally tried to fix everything that was broken in their household. It was believed that then the spring work will pass without problems. Which, you see, is not without meaning.
Women also did not sit idle: in addition to the usual chores, they were engaged in going through things in closets and chests, looking at what needed to be sewn up, patched up, or maybe sew a new thing or buy something that was not enough for the spring season.
According to popular beliefs, it is impossible to do a rearrangement in the house today, otherwise life will become restless and hectic. But the purchase of new furniture was welcomed – it was believed that prosperity would come to the house with it.
According to other signs, one cannot wear black things today – to trouble, and even to mourning; you can’t borrow and lend money – financial problems will worsen or appear; you can’t pick up the money found from the ground – to ruin.
Folk signs on February 16 are as follows:
– from this day seven morning frosts are counted – after the seventh, spring should finally come;
– if steam spreads over the river – to a cold snap;
– if there is frost on the trees in the morning, it will be cold in the afternoon;
– if the sparrows sang, it will soon get warmer;
– if a cat scratches the floor – to a blizzard;
– if a big black bird flew to the house – bad news.
Dreams that occurred on the night of February 17 can come true within three weeks, especially if they are clear and vivid. If you didn’t like the dream, tell someone about it so that what you saw in a dream does not come true.
