Dubai, Istanbul and Yerevan turned out to be the most popular foreign destinations for Russian citizens for flights during the celebration of Valentine’s Day, according to the results of a study by OneTwoTrip travel planning service.
As specified, abroad on Valentine’s Day, most Russians flew to Dubai – 11.8% of air bookings were made to this city. Slightly fewer tourists went to Istanbul (11.4%) and Yerevan (10%). Also in the list of popular destinations were Bishkek (5.5%), Bangkok (5.1%), Almaty (3.9%), Bali (3.7%), Phuket (3.6%), Minsk (3. 3%) and Antalya (3.2%).
The experts examined bookings for February 10-16. Most flights on these dates were made to Moscow (24.6% of bookings), Sochi (12%) and St. Petersburg (11.3%). In addition, the following destinations became popular on Valentine’s Day: Kaliningrad (5.2%), Caucasian Mineralnye Vody (4%), Yekaterinburg (3.8%), Kazan (2.7%), Ufa (2.5%) , Makhachkala (2.4%) and Irkutsk (2.1%).
By train, the service’s customers most often traveled to Moscow: 30.4% of orders were placed in the capital. Another 14.7% of trips were booked to St. Petersburg, 7.6% – to Krasnodar.
